Doesn’t my laptop already have a magnetic charger

Yes, if you own a MacBook. Apple built MagSafe for one product line and kept it there. Your iPhone does not have it. Your Android Phone does not have it. Your game controller, your Kindle, your earbuds case; none of them has it.  

How many devices can it charge at once? What if I lose the special cable, am I stuck?

No. The magnetic tip sits flush and steady in your device, but it is not fixed in permanently; pull it out with your fingernail or the tip removal tool that comes with your cable any time you like, and the port underneath works exactly as it always did. Lose or forget the Volta cable, and you can charge with any standard cable you have on hand. You are never locked out of charging your own device. 

Isn’t magnetic charging slower than plugging it directly 

That is true of wireless charging pads, which lose power through the air gap. It is not true here. The magnetic tip is a direct physical contact point, not a wireless coil. Power runs straight through the connection at full rated speed. No loss, no compromise, no waiting longer than a standard cable would. 

Won’t a stiff cable be annoying at an angle

You are right, and that is exactly why the MAX Lite exists. Customers told us the original Volta MAX was too rigid, so we rebuilt it from the ground up. The MAX Lite is the lightest, most flexible cable we have ever made, with a dedicated 90° elbow head for the exact angles a straight cable never handled well. 

Isn’t USB-C universal and easy to use?

Every time you insert a cable into your device, you wear down your port a little more.  Before long, you end up with a worn-out port. With the Volta magnetic cable, you put a connector tip in the port of your device once, and you can pull it out again with your finger whenever you want. The cable itself never enters the port again. It simply snaps on to charge, and releases just as easily when you are done.
